Partner William Sherman will speak on the "International Pitfalls after the TCJA" at the William & Mary Law School 64th Annual Tax Conference. Mr. Sherman will discuss how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) created a variety of uncertainties and complexities with respect to U.S. international taxation. The Act was intended to simplify international taxes, but instead created an environment of complexity that requires extensive analysis. Mr. Sherman will cover the aspects of the new rules, the changes made to subpart F, the Global Intangible Low Taxed Income (GILTI) rules, the Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) and much more.
