Native American Law 101

Native American Law Partner James Meggesto will offer a presentation providing an overview of the origins and framework for Native American law in the United States. He will outline the foundational legislation and cases that gave rise to the current laws and policies on the books today, as well as look at sources of conflict and cooperation. The presentation will cover topics including federal, state and tribal jurisdiction, taxation, property rights, Indian gaming, natural resources issues and economic development.
