Miami Arbitration Week 2023

Attorneys Katharine Menendez de la Cuesta and Donald Gray will participate in the inaugural Miami Arbitration Week hosted by the Miami International Arbitration Society. The event lasts November 8-15, 2023, and features a variety of sessions offering lively discussions on arbitration-related topics. The events take place at multiple venues, including Holland & Knight's Miami office.

Ms. Menendez de la Cuesta will speak during the week's kickoff event on a panel exploring the implications of legislation and court reform for arbitration friendliness. During the presentation, professionals from around the world will evaluate jurisdictional developments in cross-border arbitration in the Americas. Ms. Menendez de la Cuesta, who focuses her practice on international arbitration and litigation, will also moderate a debate during the LATAM Investor-State Arbitration Conference at the University of Miami. The debate will center on the following proposition: A rule against double hatting will impede the generational change in investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) arbitrators.

Mr. Gray will join the Aviation & Aerospace Disputes program to discuss dispute resolution in the aviation sector. Mr. Gray advises many of the world's leading aircraft lessors, financiers and manufacturers on aircraft finance transactions and aerospace commercial and regulatory matters. His session will explore how to navigate these disputes.
