New CEQA Reforms and California Housing Development: Qualifying for Exemptions, Project Impact, Compliance Challenges
BARBRI Webinar
West Coast Land Use and Environment attorney Ryan Leaderman will be a featured speaker during a BARBRI webinar examining reforms to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and their implications for housing development. Assembly Bill (AB) 130 and Senate Bill (SB) 131 represent some of the most consequential changes to the law in decades, expanding CEQA exemptions for certain projects such as infill housing and introducing provisions to expedite approval of qualifying housing projects. Together, these reforms aim to streamline CEQA reviews and limit CEQA misuse and litigation. During this webinar, speakers will break down what the changes mean for developers and other stakeholders, discuss open questions and compliance challenges, and share best practices for approaching new and ongoing projects.
