Private Wealth Services attorney Kelly Hellmuth will participate in the University of Miami School of Law's 60th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning. This premier event offers comprehensive coverage of the most important tax (and non-tax) planning issues facing trust and estate practitioners and their clients, with presentation on areas ranging from 2025 legislative developments such as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and trust law updates to notable court decisions regarding fiduciary duties to the evolution of qualified small business stock (QSBS). The event will take place in Orlando, Florida, with virtual attendance also available.

Ms. Hellmuth will speak in two sessions at the conference. Her first presentation will address planning with charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), specifically examining what's contained in IRS forms pertaining to CRTs and planning and administration questions not addressed by them. Her second presentation will continue the conversation by highlighting planning strategies for CRTs. Speakers will walk the audience through hypothetical fact patterns and potential pain points that these trusts both generate and help solve, emphasizing what to keep in mind when a charitable deduction factors into an estate plan.
