Decision Points and Strategies in the Formation and Tax-Exemption of New Entities

Nonprofit and Tax-Exempt Organizations attorney Nykolas McKissic will participate in UT Law CLE's 2026 Nonprofit Organizations Essentials program, which will focus on core concerns and strategies for private foundations and public charities, from the formation of new tax-exempt entities to compliance and operational considerations that come with tax-exempt status. Mr. McKissic's presentation will review how to qualify for Section 501(c)(3) status, including the application process, different types of tax-exempt organizations and different bases for obtaining a tax exemption. The event will take place the day before UT Law CLE's 43rd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute, which Mr. McKissic will attend alongside other members of Holland & Knight's Nonprofit and Tax-Exempt Organizations Team.
