Litigation attorney Nathan Adams will speak at Stetson University College of Law's 47th Annual National Conference on Law & Higher Education in Clearwater Beach, Florida. The four-day event will explore the intersection of higher education law and public policy, putting a spotlight on the regulatory, legislative and executive mandates that have triggered strategic realignment of long-standing postures and traditions. Presentations will examine how colleges and universities are confronting these challenges and how advisors can position schools for success amid the upheaval. Mr. Adams' panel will focus on mergers, acquisitions and changes of control, increasingly common in the field of higher education. He will outline the operational, employment, financial aid and governance factors that affect transaction outcomes as well as discuss the role of officers and directors in overseeing deals and balancing student, faculty, alumni, donor and other interests. He will additionally share tips for handling contract negotiations, regulator and accreditor demands, public disclosures, endowment funds and dispute resolution.
Mr. Adams will also speak at the Stetson Law Review 2026 Symposium, which will take place in conjunction with the conference. His session is titled "Higher Education at a Crossroads: Challenges for Counseling Colleges in the Current Climate."
