Litigation attorney Camelia Lopez Shoemaker will moderate a panel on the government's corporate enforcement priorities and initiatives during the 24th Annual Corporate Governance Conference at The University of Texas at Dallas. The yearly program, hosted by the Naveen Jindal School of Management's Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance, brings together corporate directors, executives, governance professionals, investors and lawyers to share perspectives on the trends affecting their organizations and how they're responding to regulatory and legislative developments. During Camelia's session, she will interview two U.S. Attorneys in Texas, who will talk about what to do when you discover your company has a potential legal problem. They will walk through not only the initial steps of who to call and where to go but also describe what the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) expects from companies and corporate counsel. The conversation will cover DOJ's evolving enforcement priorities, corporate voluntary self-disclosure, individual accountability, whistleblowers and what meaningful cooperation looks like. Featuring firsthand insights from two of the chief prosecutors in Texas, the presentation will impart valuable guidance for attendees. Holland & Knight is proud to sponsor this event.
