Two members of Holland & Knight’s Native American Law Group will present at the NCAI Mid-Year Conference in Spokane, Washington this week. Their presentation will be part of a breakout session on the Tribal Government Tax Parity Initiative on Tuesday, June 28, starting at 1:30.
Tax attorney Kathleen Nilles and Public Affairs Advisor Kayla Gebeck will make a presentation on the Tribal Tax and Investment Reform Act of 2016 (H.R. 4943) and its provisions related to tax-exempt bonds, tribal governmental pension and employee benefits plans and tribal charities, among others. Their presentation will include an explanation of each section of the bill as well as strategic considerations regarding the engagement of tribal governments in federal tax reform efforts.
