Employer Obligations Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201) on March 14, 2020, and the Senate approved it in a 90-8 vote on Wednesday, March 18.  Now that President Trump has signed the bill, many American workers will be entitled to paid employee sick leave and family leave.  In this Client Alert, we summarize the new law’s requirements that covered employers provide paid sick and family leave under certain COVID-19-related circumstances.
