Continued Emphasis on D&I on the Horizon, but Not Without Its Challenges

Labor, Employment and Benefits Attorneys Tina Tellado and Deisy Castro co-authored an article for The National Law Journal analyzing legislative efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Executive orders from President Joe Biden in combination with state laws are expected to lead to an increase in initiatives and policies from companies and employers seeking to address issues in this area. The authors emphasize, however, that such efforts be carefully planned, as they could be challenged in court. Their article outlines legislation at the federal and state levels as well as the current legal challenges they are facing.
