Defense Project Construction in Cases of Emergency

Environment attorney Maria Camila Aponte wrote an article for Lexir about Colombia's environmental regulations currently in place, which allow projects that intervene in the watercourse of a body of water to be carried out without having a prior environmental permit. Ms. Aponte explains this is possible only in cases in which an emergency is verified. She also offers some recommendations for those facing an environmental sanction procedure or imposition of fines.
