Application of the Corporate Transparency Act to Foreign Investors
Corporate Transparency Act Team members Alan Granwell and Briahnna Skinner co-authored an article featured on Tax Notes Federal and Tax Notes International examining the effects of the Corporate Transparency Act's (CTA) reporting provisions for entities used in business and personal activities. Mr. Granwell and Ms. Skinner explore the steps that foreign multinationals, owners and controlling persons need to take to be in compliance with the legislation's rules. In particular, they focus on how to determine whether an entity is a reporting company subject to the CTA's requirements, who are beneficial owners or company applicants, what information is required in a report, what the deadlines are and how to file a report, in addition to privacy issues implicated by the reporting regime.
