Workplace Sexual Harassment: Between Existing Legislation and Social Need
Labor and employment attorney Germán Gomez published a column for Lexir analyzing workplace harassment regulations in Colombia. The article begins by highlighting Law 2365 of 2024, which governs sexual harassment in the workplace. Mr. Gomez opines that this law was not necessary because Colombia already had laws on the books that include legal tools to address these types of incidents. He explains that, in his view, the problem is not the absence of effective rules but rather their inapplication as a result of structural barriers and lack of training for employers. He concludes emphasizing that the regulatory framework in this area requires a coherent implementation, which demands education, ethical business leadership and effective internal mechanisms.
