Standing Strong in an Uncertain World (Again)

Latin Lawyer

Latin America Partner Enrique Gomez-Pinzon was quoted in a Latin Lawyer article titled "Standing Strong in an Uncertain World (Again)."

The article reports that Latin Lawyer gathered some of Washington, D.C.’s leading Latin America-focused practitioners to hear their perspective on the region’s position in the world and the role lawyers in the United States capital can expect to play. While the discussion was overwhelmingly optimistic, as legal practices in the region and Washington grow in sophistication, according to the article, there are fears of Brazil overheating and speculation over the role of international counsel in Chinese investment. The lawyers at the meeting agreed that the fall from the Chinese investing so many billions of U.S. dollars in Latin America is yet to be seen. "They are now part of [the Inter-American Development Bank] so they are competing for all the engineering and procurement and everything they finance in Latin America," Mr. Gomez-Pinzon said.
