Defense Seeks to Move Trial on Boston Marathon Bombing

Defense lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the accused Boston Marathon bomber, seek to move the trial from Boston in an effort to avoid a biased jury.

Partner Jeremy Sternberg, a former federal prosecutor in Boston, said the defense filings indicate that there are jurisdictions outside Boston, such as Washington, that might result in less prejudiced jurors. But, he said, “they have not demonstrated that you can’t find a fair and impartial jury” in eastern Massachusetts.
