Effective Rates Should Not Pass Unnoticed, There Can Be Audits

Tax Partner Mario Barrera was interviewed by Milenio about the effective income tax rates for large taxpayers published by Mexico's Tax Administration Service on Aug. 1. Mr. Barrera shared insights on how the efficiency levels informed by the SAT are relevant for companies so that they can avoid undergoing future auditing and assessment procedures.
"It is a warning sign, but because it is not binding, I can be below those ranges and be able to support my position of what I am generating, independently of what the SAT is publishing," he explained. "What is important is to have the adequate information and documentation to support my position."
