Leading the Way: Holland & Knight's Wifredo Ferrer on Retention and the Power of Intention

Miami Executive Partner Wifredo Ferrer was interviewed by Daily Business Review as part of its "Leading the Way" series. He talks about what keeps him up at night and the most valuable leadership lessons he’s learned during the pandemic. Those lessons have helped him add 38 attorneys to the Miami office and increase billable hours and collections by 20 percent when compared to this time last year.

When asked about the most important lesson learned as a firm leader, Mr. Ferrer said, "When you put your people first, your firm will succeed. I think that the human touch is invaluable, and I think Holland & Knight is known for that. One of the main reasons I came here is because Holland & Knight is a place where people come first—attorneys, professional staff, clients. I think it’s crucial to make sure your lawyers and professional staff members have what they need to be safe, productive, and able to focus on their families."
