Key Senate Health Committee Could Be Led by Paul, Sanders in 2023

National Journal

Healthcare attorney Lisa Hawke was quoted in an article by National Journal about the possibility of Sens. Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders taking over the Senate health committee next year. Key committee members are either retiring or expected to move committees, and Paul is next in line by seniority. Ms. Hawke noted that next year lawmakers will be working to reauthorize the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act.

“I would guess [Paul] would want to be in a leading position to be able to do some of the kinds of reforms” he has proposed around the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, she said.
