What Are the Legal Options If I Am a Victim of Discrimination at a Business?

Corporate attorney Esteban García was interviewed by Asuntos Legales about the legal recourses for victims of discrimination at a business. He pointed out that in Colombia, discrimination is considered a crime, and that there are administrative and judicial tools available, including police action. He also described the penalties imposed on natural persons that commit acts of discrimination.

"The acts of discrimination were elevated to the category of crime, because of which penalties of 12 to 36 months in prison and fines of 10 to 15 months' of minimum salary could be applied," he said.
