2024 Diversity in Business: Andrea James

Houston litigation attorney Andrea James was profiled by the Houston Business Journal as part of its annual Diversity in Business Awards. Ms. James was named an Outstanding Diversity Champion in recognition of her commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In her Q&A with the publication, she emphasized that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies are critical to fostering a culture of belonging and innovation that not only gives underrepresented groups an opportunity to succeed but also unlocks a wealth of talent and potential. She explained that Holland & Knight actively recruits individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and shared her admiration for leaders who continue to push for diversity in the face of resistance.

"I am most proud of the resilience shown by so many leaders to continue fighting for diversity, despite countless efforts to set back the progress we have made," she said. "In the face of adversity, these leaders have remained steadfast in their commitment to equity and inclusion, refusing to be deterred by obstacles or setbacks."
