Healthcare Reform Should Be Considered to Improve Rather Than Abolish, According to Lawyers
Bogotá Executive Partner Enrique Gómez-Pinzón was interviewed by Portafolio about the firm's launch of a new healthcare division aimed at addressing the legal and regulatory challenges of Colombia's health sector. Mr. Gómez-Pinzón emphasized the goal of enhancing the current health system without dismantling it, leveraging the opportunities presented by the health crisis to improve services and safeguard the fundamental right to healthcare despite the country's limited resources. The newly established division is committed to providing comprehensive advice and effectively responding to legal actions.
"It would be beneficial to carry out a reform, not to dismantle the current system but to improve it. Colombia has a strong health system despite its flaws because we are a country with limited resources, and there are certain areas we can enhance, an opportunity not many developing countries have," he said.
