Legal Problems for a Company That Allows Its Employees to Work While on Medical Leave
Asuntos Legales
Labor and employment attorney Diego Acevedo was interviewed by Asuntos Legales about the legal implications for Colombian companies that allow their employees to work while on medical leave. The article explored the various consequences that organizations may face, including administrative sanctions, risks of workplace harassment claims and other potential legal claims from employees. Mr. Acevedo emphasized the complexity of these situations and their potential repercussions both internally and externally for companies.
"These problems can arise both within the company and in relation to judicial and/or administrative labor authorities. Thus, we find that within the company, this type of action can be considered as potential workplace harassment, which implies the activation of the company's Coexistence Committee, with the consequent stability rights," he said.
