Trump Chooses Former DOL Official as Its Deputy Secretary
Law360
Labor and employment attorney Timothy Taylor was quoted in a Law360 article discussing President-Elect Donald Trump's nomination of Keith Sonderling for deputy labor secretary, the second-in-command at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). With a background in both the DOL's Wage and Hour Division and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Sonderling has shown strong leadership on labor issues, notably through the Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program during the first Trump Administration. Mr. Taylor highlighted Sonderling's adept handling of the intricate intersections between artificial intelligence (AI) and labor and employment concerns.
"[AI is] a critical priority across the government to be thinking about carefully. [Keith Sonderling] has all the qualifications necessary to do a great job as deputy secretary," he said.
