The Legal Scenarios Faced by Frisby Over the Use of Its Trademark in Europe

Intellectual Property attorney Danilo Romero was cited in an article published by Portafolio about the legal case faced by the Colombian chain Frisby as a result of the unauthorized use of its trademark in Europe. The article explained how, even though Frisby had registrations in the European Union (EU), the lack of timely opposition allowed another Spanish company to register the trademark, leading to a complex legal conflict. Mr. Romero highlighted these other processes that are necessary to protect a company's intellectual property when entering a new market.

"In that regard, industrial property law offers options to make international registrations or eventually country by country, depending on what is most efficient for each case," he said.
