New Study Reveals Colombians Are Unhappier with Their Personal Economy, Experts Explain
Caracol Radio
Labor attorney Camilo Cuervo was interviewed in an article published by Caracol Radio about the recent decline in Colombians' personal economic confidence, as reflected in Ipsos' Consumer Confidence Index. Mr. Cuervo highlighted that this economic unhappiness is a result of the uncertainty generated by government decisions and the lack of clarity around labor reforms, which affects confidence in employment stability and limits consumption. He also noted that high inflation contributes to a widespread perception of expensive products, further reducing consumer spending.
"When the economy is doing well and the government is doing well, people trust the stability they will have, especially in employment… but when things go wrong, people instinctively reduce their consumption even without a specific need to do so," he said.
