Legal ethics attorney Trisha Rich was interviewed by The American Lawyer about the launch of the Private Equity Legal Alliance, a new partnership among consultancies, investors and law firms that aims to provide a roadmap for law firms considering outside capital investment through means such as alternative business structures (ABS) and managed service organizations (MSOs). With Holland & Knight's participation lending additional credibility, the Alliance focuses on compliance, governance, valuation and post‑investment integration to help law firm leaders and private equity investors navigate a patchwork regulatory landscape while pursuing innovation. Ms. Rich discussed how the initiative brings together multidisciplinary experience to help firms innovate responsibly while maintaining the profession's core duties.
"It was a great opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the industry right now," Ms. Rich said. She added that the Alliance offers "a comprehensive, ethics‑first roadmap that helps investors and firms pursue innovation without compromising the profession's core responsibility."
