Top Gov't Contracts Policies of 2025

Law360
Government Contracts attorney Jeremy Burkhart was quoted in a Law360 article on the major federal procurement policy developments government contractors should be watching, including the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) phased implementation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program, ongoing efforts to streamline the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the effects of operational disruptions across agencies. The article also highlighted how contractors have continued to feel downstream impacts from delayed government action following the recent shutdown, particularly in routine contract administration. Mr. Burkhart noted that contractors are increasingly encountering longer timelines as agency officials work through significant backlogs.

"I know that in a lot of my contacts with agency officials, they're just basically way behind on dealing with stuff. So, it's kind of like everything is delayed, whether it's a request, a claim, basically anything that you would need from a contracting official, it's just going to take that much longer to get it," he said.
