Trump 2.0 Unleashes a Gusher on K Street

POLITICO

Public Policy & Regulation attorney Paul Stimers was quoted in a POLITICO article recapping a banner year for lobbying firms in Washington, D.C., amid major policy changes and evolving regulatory expectations under the second Trump Administration. Holland & Knight reported $54.6 million in lobbying revenues for 2025, up from $49.7 million in 2024, in one example of the bumper crop on K Street. The article also highlighted the issues driving this increase, including uncertainty around artificial intelligence (AI) regulation, tariffs and trade policy, the future of renewable energy tax credits and affordability initiatives. Mr. Stimers, who co-leads the firm's Federal Government Affairs Practice, explained that tariffs in particular touched a broad swatch of business and industry groups, another factor upping the demand for lobbying work.

"It's hard to think of a client that didn't have questions related to tariffs," he said. "Even if they weren't exporters or importers, they were still impacted in one way or another."
