Holland & Knight Guides Zoning Approval For $4B Florida Project
Real Estate attorney Alejandro Arias was quoted in a Law360 article covering zoning approvals granted by the City of Sweetwater for a $4.65 billion, master-planned community known as the Flagler Center District. The approval by the Sweetwater City Commission allows developer CREI Holdings to move forward on the 105-acre project that will consist of up to 6,000 residential units and a hotel, along with space for general commercial, retail, education and office use. The development team projects substantial economic impact, including construction jobs, permanent jobs and new annual tax revenue for the city. The approvals required amendments to the city's comprehensive plan, land use map and zoning regulations. Mr. Arias, who represents the developer, commented on the city's move paving the way for next steps.
"The City Commission's approval represents the most significant step forward for this development," he said. "We're grateful for the Commission's thoughtful review and approval of this transformative development for the City of Sweetwater."
