As Appeals Mount in Florida Courts, Firms Look to Boost Appellate Capabilities

Daily Business Review

Appellate attorney Christopher Bellows was quoted in a Daily Business Review article examining the steady rise in appeals in Florida's state and federal courts and how that trend is influencing law firms' investment in appellate law talent and capabilities. The article noted that procedural changes have made appellate review more accessible in certain matters, while broader confidence in the court system is also contributing to the increase in filings. Mr. Bellows pointed to the strength of Florida's appellate courts and the trust litigants place in them as important factors behind the growing demand for appellate advocacy.

"The quality of the Appellate Courts is excellent; it's as good as it's ever been," he said. "And I think people have a lot of faith in the appellate court system and the system itself, so they're willing to pay the extra money to try and to get things right."
