Holland & Knight Partner Michael Werner Named as One of 2014’s Top 50 Global Stem Cell Influencers

WASHINGTON (August 20, 2014) – Holland & Knight Partner Michael Werner was recently honored for the second year in a row as one of the Top 50 Global Stem Cell Influencers by Total BioPharma, an e-newsletter that covers innovation and strategy in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Total BioPharma conducts an annual global survey of the international stem cell community to gauge who is influencing progress in the industry. Mr. Werner joins a group of globally known academics, industry and government professionals who have substantially contributed to the field of regenerative medicine.

Mr. Werner has nearly three decades of healthcare law, lobbying, policy development and regulatory experience in Washington, D.C. He serves as executive director of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine, a group he also formed. In addition, he was a founding board member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research and is the former chief of policy for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), representing more than 1,000 biotechnology companies in the U.S. and other countries.
