Jason E. Havens Joins Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Services Practice
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 8, 2014) – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Jason E. Havens has joined the firm's Private Wealth Services Group as a senior counsel in the Jacksonville and Tallahassee offices. Mr. Havens was formerly a managing attorney with Havens & Miller P.L.L.C.
Mr. Havens is licensed in both Florida and Tennessee and will continue his business and tax law practice representing clients in complex planning and administration matters, sophisticated charitable planning, exempt organizations and asset protection law. Mr. Havens has extensive experience representing a wide range of charitable foundations, small businesses, and national banks and trust companies. He also has served as vice president and general counsel for a national legal software company.
Mr. Havens is active in the American Bar Association (ABA) and is currently the co-chair of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section's Charitable Organizations Committee. He is also an editor and frequent contributor to the ABA's Probate & Property magazine. Additionally, Mr. Havens serves as the current president of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils’ Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc.
Mr. Havens is board certified in wills, trusts and estates law by The Florida Bar and as an estate planning law specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and recognized by Super Lawyers.
Mr. Havens received his B.A. degree from Lipscomb University, his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, an LL.M. degree in estate planning from the University of Miami School of Law, and an LL.M. degree in international taxation from Regent University School of Law.
