Holland & Knight Honored with IFLR Americas Award for Role in Structured Finance and Securitization Deal of the Year
NEW YORK (May 20, 2022) – Holland & Knight was recognized by International Financial Law Review (IFLR) magazine for its advisory role in Chile Electricity's $489 million tariff receivables securitization, the first of its kind in Latin America. The transaction was named the Structured Finance and Securitization Deal of the Year. The awards were announced at the IFLR Americas Awards in New York on May 19.
The innovative transaction involved the creation of a special purpose vehicle by Chile Electricity in order to purchase existing and future receivables generated under the country's tariff stabilization mechanism (Chilean Law No. 21,185).
Holland & Knight Partner Peter Baumgaertner, Senior Counsel Dan Brown and Associate Julia de la Parra represented PEC Management, SpA, the issuing administrator to state-owned Chile Electricity PEC, as well as TMF Chile Asesorias Empresariales Limitada as verification agent and services provider in the transaction.
