Holland & Knight Recognized for Role in Latin Lawyer’s Corporate Finance/ESG Deal of the Year

NEW YORK (May 10, 2022) – Holland & Knight was recognized by Latin Lawyer magazine for its advisory role in the $700 million sustainability-linked bond issuance by B3, Brazil's stock exchange. The  transaction was named Deal of the Year in the category of Corporate Finance - ESG. The awards were announced at Latin Lawyer’s 16th Annual Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year Awards in São Paulo on May 5.

Each year, Latin Lawyer offers awards to general counsel and law firms advising on the most significant deals of the year across Latin America. Winners are selected from nominations in the categories of mergers and acquisitions, project finance, corporate finance, disputes, restructuring, private equity and regulatory matters.

Holland & Knight Partner Peter Baumgaertner and Senior Counsel Michael Fruchter advised Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas in connection with the financing. As part of the offering, B3 has pledged to create a diversity and sustainability index that will rate listed companies by December 2024. B3 is Latin America’s largest stock exchange by market value.

Another deal that Holland & Knight was involved in, Chile Electricity's $489 million tariff stabilization financing, was shortlisted in the Capital Markets category. Holland & Knight represented PEC Management, SpA as the issuer administrator of the offering as well as TMF Chile Asesorias Empresariales Limitada as verification agent and a services provider in the transaction.
