Holland & Knight Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary of Mexico City Office
The firm has quadrupled in size and added a second office in Monterrey during past decade
MEXICO CITY (February 3, 2023) – Holland & Knight celebrated its 10th year in Mexico City with a reception on Jan. 26, 2023, at its newly renovated office on the Paseo de la Reforma. Holland & Knight has thrived in Mexico since establishing its office in 2013. The firm has grown from 10 to more than 50 lawyers and legal professionals, added a new location in Monterrey and significantly expanded its practice area offerings.
Under Executive Partner Luis Rubio Barnetche's leadership, the firm's Mexico Practice now provides representation in litigation and arbitration, financial services, corporate/mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax, labor, international trade, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), intellectual property, energy, real estate and government law. Holland & Knight is also one of the few U.S.-based firms to offer comprehensive legal services in both Mexico and Colombia.

Over the past decade, Holland & Knight strengthened its ranks with various strategic moves, including its merger with Thompson & Knight in 2021, which added several lawyers and a new outpost in Monterrey. The firm also welcomed a team from DLA Piper and recruited leading tax and international trade partners during this time.
Notably, Holland & Knight lawyers have been instrumental in the development of the real estate capital, structured finance and securitization markets in Mexico, including the formation of the country's largest real estate investment trusts (REITs). Most recently, Holland & Knight advised AgroFibra on its debut on the Institutional Stock Market (Biva) on Dec. 9, 2022.
