Holland & Knight Advises Bladex on $1 Billion Financing for the Republic of Panama
NEW YORK (September 18, 2026) – Holland & Knight advised Bladex Inc. (Bladex) as lender in a term financing of up to $1 billion for the Republic of Panama, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), to support the country's general budgetary purposes. The transaction closed on September 9.
The financing, the largest structured and granted by Bladex, enables the Republic of Panama to access funding in an agile manner under competitive terms, while diversifying its sources of financing.
Bladex is a multinational bank originally established by the central banks of Latin America. It began operations in 1979 and today provides financial solutions to financial institutions and corporations throughout the region. Headquartered in Panama, Bladex has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, an agency in New York and a representative license in Peru. Bladex has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: BLX) since 1992.
