Jessica M. "Jessie" Brown is an attorney in Holland & Knight's San Francisco and Anchorage offices. She is a member of the firm's West Coast Litigation Group, as well as its Legal Profession Team. Clients routinely call on her versatile experience in Alaska and California state and federal courts to achieve favorable litigation outcomes. She enjoys a robust appellate practice, and recently briefed and presented oral arguments on two related appeals before the Alaska Supreme Court.
Ms. Brown also maintains a successful and comprehensive alcohol licensing practice in California and Alaska. As one of Alaska's few attorneys specializing in alcohol beverage law, she assists clients to navigate every step of the state and municipal alcohol licensing process. She has successfully shepherded numerous liquor licensing, business and tax matters through various agencies. Her litigation background serves clients facing administrative enforcement actions.
After receiving her law degree, Ms. Brown clerked for Chief Justice Craig F. Stowers of the Alaska Supreme Court and Judge Susan Y. Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. Brown also served as an adjunct professor of law at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco prior to joining Holland & Knight. While in law school, Ms. Brown served three semesters as a judicial extern to Associate Justice Ming W. Chin of the Supreme Court of California. She also interned in the French-speaking appellate chamber of Judge Mehmet Güney of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
