Nicholas Brunero is a New York attorney who handles various corporate matters for businesses and individuals, and also provides outside general counsel services for companies. Mr. Brunero represents financial institutions, emerging growth companies, private equity firms and other clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, commercial litigations and disputes, as well as general commercial transactions. He handles a broad range of matters, including public and private financings, cross-border joint ventures and acquisitions, restructurings and turnarounds, corporate governance and compliance, public company board matters, employment and immigration, and intellectual property. Mr. Brunero represents clients in a wide range of industries, including technology, consumer products, manufacturing, real estate and financial services.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Brunero served as chief legal counsel of Cella Energy, an early stage technology company located in the United Kingdom, and acted as general counsel for Emerging Power Inc., a manufacturing and distribution company. Previously, Mr. Brunero was president and general counsel of Ener1 Inc., a technology company formerly listed on NASDAQ.
Mr. Brunero began his career in the litigation department of a boutique law firm, where his practice primarily focused on representing large financial institutions in commercial litigations, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and FINRA investigations.
