Overview

Tammy Eason is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Ms. Eason focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and has experience in shareholder oppression actions, international arbitration matters, financial services litigation, and litigation implicating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).

Ms. Eason has experience representing clients in actions involving allegations of shareholder oppression, breaches of fiduciary duties, fraud, breaches of contract and other related business torts. She also has experience representing an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in a multibillion-dollar arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arising out of the construction of a mega-infrastructure project. In addition, Ms. Eason has experience representing companies in class actions involving allegations of consumer fraud and product liability, as well as defending plan sponsors of ESOPs, company board of directors, selling shareholders and fiduciaries in ERISA putative class actions involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty and engaging in prohibited transactions.

Ms. Eason is a member of the firm's Legal Profession Team. As a member, Ms. Eason has experience representing individuals on matters related to conflicts of interest, attorney misconduct and other professional responsibility issues. Additionally, Ms. Eason has experience representing individuals in proceedings before the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission through the Attorney Defense Initiative, a privately sponsored pro bono initiative that focuses on assisting impaired lawyers facing disciplinary charges.

During law school, Ms. Eason volunteered in the Children & Family Practice Group for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, where she helped provide free legal services to families living in poverty in metropolitan Chicago.

In the community, Ms. Eason sits on the Associate Board for WINGS Metro, a nonprofit in Chicago that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence.
