William F. "Bill" Farley is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office and practices commercial litigation. Mr. Farley represents businesses in complex commercial disputes covering a broad range of legal issues, including class action litigation, business tort, domestic and international supply chain disputes, commercial landlord-tenant actions and product liability. He is also an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. private-sector (CIPP/US).
Mr. Farley has effectively helped clients resolve matters involving breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, private stakeholder rights disputes and consumer fraud actions. He is well versed in all aspects of the litigation process including drafting dispositive motions, deposing witnesses, collecting relevant evidence, consulting with expert witnesses, witness preparation, and conducting trial proceedings. In particular, he has experience drafting appellate briefs for cases on appeal at the state and federal level and class certification pleadings for class actions. Mr. Farley's experience also includes successful resolution of matters through alternative dispute resolutions such as arbitration and mediation.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Farley was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Joy V. Cunningham in the Illinois Appellate Court. Through his clerkship, Mr. Farley gained significant experience in many areas of law, including contract modification and enforcement, consumer fraud, wrongful termination, unemployment benefits, post-employment covenants, negligent hiring, collective bargaining agreement disputes and arbitration award challenges for a municipal entity.
Mr. Farley is a member of the Chicago Pro Bono Team who helped a Togolese refugee gain asylum in the United States.
