Brandon Faulkner is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Tampa office and practices in the areas of complex commercial and appellate litigation. He primarily represents clients with businesses in the technology, manufacturing, and financial services industries.

Mr. Faulkner advocates on behalf of clients in disputes and class actions relating to products liability, intellectual property, trade secrets, contracts, business torts, fraud and fraudulent trade practices, corporate governance, and fiduciary duties. In addition, Mr. Faulkner has represented clients on appeal to the Florida District Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Faulkner's recent representative matters include:

  • Defending products liability claims on behalf of a national retailer regarding traumatic brain injury and wrongful death cases alleging defective design and manufacture, failure to warn, and breach of warranty
  • Defending various claims for copyright and trademark infringement on behalf of an international religious institution, a professional sports team arena, and various internet-based companies
  • Prosecuting and defending claims for misappropriation of trade secrets with respect to compiled customer lists, pricing and demand proprietary information, and internal processes
  • Representing purchasers of a technology-based company regarding claims of fraud
  • Defeating a putative class action for alleged deceptive and fraudulent trade practices on behalf of a public company traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange
  • Obtaining a $78 million judgment and defeating a $300 million counterclaim for lender liability on behalf of a multinational life insurance, pension, and asset management company traded on the New York Stock Exchange
  • Defending a municipality against a putative class action for improper taxation regarding a Municipal Services Benefit Unit
  • Defending three separate cases brought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) against the former board of directors of different community banks

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Faulkner worked as an advanced manufacturing engineer for Honeywell International, managing the production of integrated electronic guidance and navigation systems for the defense industry. As an undergraduate, he served as President of Alpha Pi Mu (the Industrial Engineering Honor Society), worked to improve public school science curriculum as a National Science Foundation Fellow, completed an honors thesis in facilities planning for an entrepreneurial biotechnology company, and received an Outstanding Graduate Award. He is a registered engineer-in-training.
