Ernesto Guzmán

Ernesto Guzmán Arana is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Bogotá office. Mr. Guzmán has knowledge and experience in the areas of energy mining law, civil, commercial and labor law. He has also participated in research for Colombia's Regulatory Improvement Policy in the hydrocarbons sector.

In addition, Mr. Guzmán has significant experience in legal advice on matters related to the structuring of renewable energy business projects. Additionally, he advises on issues related to environmental requirements, environmental due diligence, administrative files, conducting environmental legal reviews for companies in corporate operations and preparation of recommendation manuals for compliance with applicable regulations, among others.

Mr. Guzmán has advised Colombian and foreign clients in the incorporation, transformation, merger, spin-off and acquisition of companies, as well as in the negotiation and drafting of shareholder agreements and share purchase agreements.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Guzman worked for a boutique law firm that focused on advisory services in the mining and energy sector for more than three years. He was also linked to the Department of Energy Mining Law of the Externado de Colombia University for three years.
