Overview

Stacy Hooper assists employers across a range of industries with matters related to employee benefit plans, including:

  • health and welfare plans
  • pension plans
  • profit sharing plans
  • employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs)
  • 401(k) plans

Ms. Hooper has particular experience with health and welfare benefit plans, including the intricacies of Affordable Care Act compliance, plan design and drafting, and evolving guidance regarding wellness programs.

She also provides practical advice to plan sponsors and insurers on a variety of federal and state laws applicable to employee benefits, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), state and federal securities requirements, state insurance law and the tax code. Additionally, she advises clients on benefits and compensation issues related to mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions, helps clients navigate governmental investigations of employee benefit plans, and assists clients with negotiating service provider agreements.

Previously, Ms. Hooper gained experience in the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird LLP.
