Connor Jordan
Associate
Overview
Connor Jordan advises public and private companies on executive compensation and employee benefits matters, helping clients design and maintain compensation programs that support their business goals and meet applicable tax requirements. Based in Dallas and Austin, he counsels clients on compensation and benefits issues both in ongoing plan design and in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Connor's work spans executive compensation disclosure agreements, Section 409A compliance, incentive compensation plans, employee benefit plans, severance plans and retention plans. He also represents companies, sellers, trustees and lenders in employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) transactions and ongoing ESOP administration. Connor advises clients on ESOP negotiations, IRS and U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) compliance, and fiduciary considerations.
Before joining Holland & Knight, he was an associate in the Dallas office of a global law firm. Earlier, Connor served as a law clerk for Judge Maurice B. Foley of the U.S. Tax Court and as an extern for Judge Travis A. Greaves of the same court. That grounding in tax law helps him guide clients through the technical requirements that shape effective compensation arrangements.
