Overview
Hyung Soo Kim is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Mr. Kim represents major multinational companies on the buy and sell sides of their domestic and cross-border transactions. He possesses extensive experience handling complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other innovative business combinations and arrangements, as well as the full spectrum of related legal issues.
With a keen understanding of his clients' business objectives and the network of legal requirements in which they may be achieved, Mr. Kim efficiently leads complex corporate transactions with an emphasis on enhancing economic benefits, corporate protections and effecting timely closures. He advises the executive leadership of multinational companies across a broad spectrum of industries and geographies on a panoply of legal and business concerns, manages all aspects of transactions and guides clients to desirable outcomes.
Mr. Kim has in-house and law firm experience, with strong skills in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of key contracts and business agreements. As a result, his career to date handling legal affairs in the U.S., Korea and multiple other jurisdictions has produced long-lasting relationships based on the ongoing trust and confidence of his clients.
Mr. Kim is also licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Korea.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Kim was an attorney at a global law firm in its Seoul and New York offices.

- Represented SK Ecoplant and SKS Credit, a global sustainability leader and a PEF company, in their acquisition of Ascend Elements, a leading advanced lithium-ion battery manufacturer
- Represent a leading manufacturer of electronic equipment components in its U.S. regulatory matters
- Represent LG CNS, a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and system integration, in its U.S. regulatory matters
- Represent one of the world's largest trading companies in its U.S. regulatory matters
- Represented one of the fastest-growing private equity firms in Asia in its bid to acquire certain interests in a global contract development and manufacturing organization specializing in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), advanced intermediates and cell and gene therapy for the pharmaceutical industry
- Represented a company that specializes in green hydrogen and renewable energy technologies on multiple matters, including its special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) private investments in public equities (PIPE) investment in the U.S. and its acquisition of a certain interest in a Finnish wind farm
- Represented a Korean multinational bank on its acquisition of a multi-finance company in Southeast Asia
- Represented one of the largest financial groups in Korea on its sale of four market development fund (MDF) investments
- Represented a leading investment management company in Korea on its acquisition of a certain interest in a direct lending fund
