Overview
Daniel Mancilla Velázquez is a legislative assistant at Holland & Knight's Mexico City office, where he focuses his practice on legislative analysis, dialogue with public actors and supporting companies in strategic sectors such as energy, technology and digital transformation.
With extensive knowledge of the political and regulatory environment in Mexico, Mr. Mancilla actively participates in monitoring legislative initiatives and developing positioning strategies before authorities at all three levels of government.
Mr. Mancilla is certified as a lobbyist before the House of Representatives of the Mexican Congress. He has completed complementary studies in political communication, international governance and applied economics at institutions such as the Centro Universitario Villanueva, University of Toronto and University of Notre Dame.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Mancilla served as a legislative advisor in Mexico's Senate of the Republic, where he participated in the development of initiatives, speeches and parliamentary activities on topics relating to artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, mental health and sustainability. As a member of the National Artificial Intelligence Alliance (ANIA), he helped develop and author the 2024-2030 National AI Agenda Proposal, which contributed to Mexico's Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) report for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
