Overview

Kristi Mankowske is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office and a member of the Real Estate practice group. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions, with a primary emphasis on leasing, acquisitions and dispositions.

Ms. Mankowske represents regional and national landlords and tenants, private equity sponsors, owners, developers, investment firms, borrowers and lenders on the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing of a wide range of commercial assets, including office, industrial, retail, data centers and healthcare properties such as medical office buildings and ambulatory surgery centers. She regularly negotiates and structures complex lease transactions across diverse asset classes and advises clients on portfolio-level and operational matters.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Mankowske practiced real estate law in the Chicago office of a prominent global law firm. She also served as in-house counsel to one of the largest U.S. construction firms, where she gained in-depth insight into real estate development and construction-related matters.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a global accounting firm in connection with all real estate matters related to its U.S. real estate portfolio of more than 100 leased locations, including negotiating and managing office leases nationwide and leading real estate diligence in connection with a $360 million merger
  • Represented a private equity sponsor managing more than $2 billion in equity capital in multiple annual acquisitions, generally ranging in value from $100 million to $200 million, including negotiating new leases and assuming and restructuring existing lease arrangements as part of the acquisition process
  • Represented a large national bank in a series of loan transactions totaling approximately $175 million, secured by properties located in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Maryland
  • Represented a real estate investment firm in the $65 million acquisition of a mixed‑use property in Southern California
  • Represented a real estate investment firm in the $240 million acquisition of a nationwide portfolio of commercial properties
  • Represented a healthcare system in the $105 million acquisition of an orthopedic practice, including negotiation and transition of associated real estate and leasing arrangements
