Lee Meyercord focuses her practice on federal, state, and local taxation of corporations, partnerships, individuals, and nonprofit organizations. She provides clients with tax planning advice on mergers and acquisitions, the operation and dispositions of partnerships and limited liability companies, and private equity transactions, and represents taxpayers in IRS audits, appeals and federal income tax litigation.

Lee is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

  • Represent partnerships in litigation and IRS audits and appeals involving worthless loss issues, refund claims, and procedural issues, including statutes of limitations and penalties
  • Represent tax-exempt organizations in IRS audits
  • Represent tax-exempt organizations relating to federal income tax issues, including unrelated business taxable income, compliance and reporting issues, investments, governance, and charitable contribution deduction issues
  • Represented individuals in IRS appeals involving penalties and estate and gift tax valuations issues and IRS collections case involving fiduciary liability
  • Represented a large corporation in obtaining a private letter ruling on eliminating $23 billion excess loss account
  • Represented multiple corporate clients in private and public debt and stock offerings
  • Represented a real estate holding partnership in the refinancing and recapitalization of real estate assets and disguised sale issues
