Overview

Andrew J. Miller is a healthcare attorney in Holland & Knight's Birmingham office. Mr. Miller advises clients across the healthcare industry on a broad range of regulatory, transactional and operational matters.

Mr. Miller's practice includes counseling hospitals and health systems, ambulatory surgery centers and physician practices on compliance with federal and state healthcare laws. He provides guidance on issues such as the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), state licensure and certification requirements, corporate practice of medicine restrictions and the regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He also advises clients on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance and patient privacy issues.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Miller served as an active-duty infantry officer in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he worked in healthcare budgeting for the U.S. Army Medical Command, where he managed financial operations across multiple hospital departments.
